Your pro -label decision will be a first step to protect the future of Hawaiian agriculture, and the health of the island people. This is the only correct choice. Already, growing food that has not been scientifically altered is challenged on all levels. Even now a bill HR 875 waits in Washington to completely control organic farming. In addition, farmers face GMO plants that cross pollinate with organic through the wind, birds and bees, eventually tainting all pure food; a criminal action that has no boundaries or controls. It is hard to imagine given the real scientific health information and evidence set before you by the people, that a vote against GMO labeling could even be possible. A strike by you against labeling will eventually cripple, if not kill off the ability to obtain pure and unaltered food. Corporations may have the money to seduce a vote with their paid for propaganda, but the people speak with honesty and from the heart. The honest evidence and research presented was not financed by the companies and those on their payrolls, but by fair and independent research. The islands must do everything in their power to control the scientific beast that has been unleashed. Labeling is a first step and at the very least gives the people a choice at the market. Your vote here will forever change the health of the islands. You have before you a lasting monumental decision.
