I am writing to ask for your support for Resolution 167 -11.
Sustainable Habitat legislation will serve the needs of many people in Hawaii county, including low income
residents who need more affordable housing and owner - builders who need a wider range of cost - saving options.
Many areas throughout the United States have adopted alternative "limited density rural dwelling" building code
ordinances. And for Hawaii County, this can mean increased income from taxes will generate revenue by issuing
permits for many houses that would not now qualify for permits.
Because this Resolution #167 -11 addresses these concerns, I am in favor and request your support.
