Brian DeLima's appointment to the Salary Commission may be legal, but that doesn't make it good or
appropriate.
Though there has been no legal decision rendered besides those given from within the County (the hen
house), Brian Delima remains a poor choice due to his obvious interest and connections to certain politicians
and a certain political point of view. This is supported by far distant history (Mr. DeLima's time on the County
Council) as his willingness to put his money where his mouth is.
As a member of the public, I have a more difficult time believing and being certain that government decisions
are being made fairly when appointments to important County posts are made when there are such glaring
questions of propriety. As was true with the Open Space Commission, I'm sure that Mayor Kenoi can find less
controversial volunteers to serve on the Salary Commission. Please ask him to do so.
