SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT:
SECTION 24-197 — PARKING PROHIBITED DURING CERTAIN HOURS
We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 8 (Parking, Standing and
Stopping). Division 1 (Parking Regulations), Section 24-197 (Parking prohibited during
certain hours) be amended by revising paragraph (a) as follows:
(a) When official signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall stop, stand,
or park a vehicle any longer than is reasonably necessary to take on or discharge
passengers or freight upon any of the streets or portions thereof within the
County, between the hours indicated on such signs, of any day, except Sundays
and public holidays OR AS OTHERWISE LISTED IN SCHEDULE 29, SECTION
24-281.
This amendment is part of an effort to allow more flexibility when parking is prohibited
during certain hours.
