SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT:
SECTION 24-287 — NEW PASSENGER LOADING ZONES
We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10 (Schedules), Division 6 (Loading
Zones), Section 24-287, Schedule 35 (Passenger loading zones), subsection (f) Kona, be
amended by adding new items and renumbering as required:
( ) KAAHUMANU PLACE, NORTH SIDE, FIRST MARKED DIAGONAL STALL, ONE
HUNDRED TWENTY-TWO FEET WEST OF ALII DRIVE, FROM 6:00 A.M. TO 6:00
P.M.
( ) KAAHUMANU PLACE, SOUTH SIDE, ONE HUNDRED TWENTY FEET WEST OF
ALII DRIVE AND EXTENDING FIFTY SIX FEET IN THE EASTERLY DIRECTION,
FROM 6:00 A.M. TO 6:00 P.M. EVERYDAY.
This amendment was generated due to a request by the Hawaii Police Department to
shorten the time the loading zones are in effect in the subject area to allow the zones to
be used as parking outside of the specified time. The designated start and end times of
the subject loading zones are based on the needs in the area.
A location map is attached for your reference.
