AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, DIVISION 6 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO LOADING ZONES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. The purpose of this measure is to address the Hawai`i Police Department's request to shorten the times the loading zones are in effect in the subject area to allow the zones to be used as parking outside of the specified time. The designated start and end time of the subject loading zones are based on the needs in the area. SECTION 2. Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 6, Section 24-287, Schedule 35. Passenger loading zones, subsection (f), Kona, of the Hawai'i County Code 1983 (2005 edition, as amended), is amended by adding the following, to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows: (f) Kona (1) Ali`i drive, east side, beginning from a point two-hundred twenty-nine feet north of Likana Lane and extending forty-seven feet in the northerly direction, 24 hours daily. ( ) Ka`ahumanu Place, north side, first marked diagonal stall, one hundred twenty- two feet west of Ali`i Drive, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ( ) Ka`ahumanu Place, south side, one hundred twenty feet west of Ali`i Drive and extending fifty six feet in the easterly direction, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. everyday. SECTION 3. Material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed and stricken material and underscoring need not be included. SECTION 4. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
