Dear Chairman Yagong:
Re: Claim filed on behalf of Glen Shikuma and Patricia Nakamoto;
request to hire special counsel
Pursuant to Section 92-5(a)(4), Hawai'i Revised Statutes, as amended, we
respectfully request the Council agendize an executive session in the above matter for
the purpose of attorney-client confidential discussion on questions and issues pertaining
to the Council's powers, duties, privileges, immunities and liabilities.
We reiterate that time is of the essence. We kindly ask this case be placed on
the February 15, 2012 council agenda. We also kindly ask each Council member be
provided a copy of our detailed letter dated January 26, 2012, stating the basis for the
request to hire special counsel to represent the County of Hawaii in the above claims.
If you require a copy of this earlier letter, please let me know.
