Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Resolution No. 101-99, transmitted by
Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro per Communication No. 328, dated June 3, 1999, regarding the
naming of streets in the County of Hawaii, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 101-99 authorizes the naming of streets within the land sections of Waikoekoe,
Kanahonua, Kukuihaele and Lalakea, TMK: 4-8-4, 4-8-6 and 4-8-7, Hamakua, Hawaii. Pursuant
to Section 22-35, Article 2, Chapter 22, Hawaii County Code, the Council is authorized to adopt
street names for Hawaii County's unnamed roadways. The Planning Commission at its May 21,
1999 meeting, voted to recommend the adoption of the street names as follows:
"Mud Lane" named after the historic reference to the road on Tax Maps
"Kukuihaele Road" named after the Ahupuaa and Village
Your Committee on Planning concurs with the intent and purpose of Resolution No. 101-99, and
recommends its adoption.
