Subject: Save recycling
Aloha.
This morning I was dismayed and saddened to hear that your committee is considering
landfill options rather than recycling for Hawaii's mixed recycling waste. In this day
and age to not make recycling and waste reduction a priority is completely unacceptable!
Your decisions not only affect the people of Hawaii today but the legacy we are leaving
behind. The damage from those before us has already been felt and it is irresponsible to
repeat those poor choices. I urge all of you to concentrate on solutions that benefit
rather than hinder our communities growth.
As a resident of north Kohala and the manager of Recycle Hawaii's Hawi 'Thrift Boutique'
and recycle & reuse center I can attest that recycling must be a priority and it is your
responsibility to make sure your decisions benefit ALL. And it works :) Please choose
wisely.
