Dear Committee Chair Pilago : I support Res. 130 -11.
It's a simple economic reason to prohibit the collecting of ornamental aquatic life in our
islands. The livelihood of most families in our state is depending one way or another on
tourism. Which in turn mandates a pristine environment, a healthy fauna and flora. A
cornerstone are the dazzling arrays of our reefs inhabitants.
The loss income of the affected current ornamental fish collectors can be buffered by
involving them in conservation efforts and aquatic tourism.
