Dear Committee Chair Pilago : Please stop the eradication of tropical fishes that is now
taking place because these people are taking all the babies. Baby fish from the wild
usually die within a few months anyway. It is a horrible waste, and these tiny fish need a
safe place to grow and thrive if we are going to coninue to have reef fish for our keikis
keiki. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT legisation. Do not let it die like the tiny fish who need
our husbandry right now. Even the ancient Hawaiians will thank you, for fish are so
important to Hawaii. Alllowing the taking of baby tropical fish is like allowing someone
to take all the seeds of our agriculture and native forests. We wouldn't do that, of
course, so why let someone remove the baby fish!
