Subject: Plastic Bag Ban, Island of Hawaii
Dear Elected Officials on The County Council of The Big Island,

I am a retired business person in Hilo. I am a past President of the Hawaii Island
Chamber of Commerce, and have been heavily involved as President, Board
Member, and Office holder in other business groups within our community.
write this letter as an individual Tax Paying Member of The Big Island, and,
express my personal views only.
Back off this ludicrous pursuit. The public as a whole does not want a ban on
PLASTIC BAGS.
The arguments that they contaminate our environment, Aina, have been
incredibly overblown and most make no sense whatsoever. I could go on about
how these plastic bags are harmful to our landfills and phone books are not, but
it's nonsense and you know it. There are many problems in our World, our
Country, and our wonderful State of Hawaii and The Big Island. Plastic Bags are
not one of them. You were not elected to Micro Manage our life's, nor the way we
live them. Get back to the basics, Police, Fire Department, and Infrastructure.
Please stop overstepping the powers you have been privileged to have been
given
Mahalo and Aloha,
Mike Goldstein, Concerned Citizen
