– 10,000 SQUARE FEET (RS-10) TO MULTIPLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL – 3,000
SQUARE FEET (RM-3) AT WAIĀKEA, SOUTH HILO, HAWAI‘I, COVERED BY TAX

From Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated January 19, 2012, transmitting the above bill and
enclosures with a favorable recommendation from Windward Planning Commission Chair
Zendo Kern. The applicants request a Change of Zone from Single-Family Residential – 10,000
square feet (RS-10) to Multiple-Family Residential – 3,000 square feet (RM-3) to allow the
construction of a fourteen-unit apartment complex to provide housing for students attending the
University of Hawai‘i at Hilo.
