RESOLUTION NO. 224 12
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER
FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-
YEAR LEASE FOR ONE (1) COPIER FOR THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or
other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of
more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for
five (5) years, for one (1) copier for the Finance Department to be used at the Motor Vehicle
Registration and Licensing Division, Hilo Driver Licensing and Commercial Driver Licensing
sections; and
WHEREAS, Commercial Driver License program is state funded and will be covering
twenty five percent (25%) of the lease and maintenance costs; and
WHEREAS, the current copier was originally leased in 2005, and is now nearing the end
of its useful life; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease
agreement for one (1) copier for the Finance Department.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this copier shall be leased for a period of five (5)
years, each at a cost not to exceed $195 per month, plus an amount not to exceed
$0.02112 for each black and white copy in excess of the monthly print allowance.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall
transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor and the Finance Department.
