RESOLUTION NO. 226 12
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER
FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-
YEAR LEASE FOR TWO (2) COPIERS FOR THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or
other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of
more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for
five (5) years, for two (2) copiers, with one (1) copier stand, for the Finance Department to be
used at the Motor Vehicle Registration and Licensing Division, Kona Driver Licensing,
;,
Commercial Driver Licensing and Periodic Motor Vehicle Inspection sections, and at the
Vehicle Registration and Licensing Division, Kona Motor Vehicle Registration section; and
WHEREAS, Commercial Driver License and Periodic Motor Vehicle Inspection
programs are state funded and will be covering thirty five percent (35%) of the lease and
maintenance costs; and
WHEREAS, the current copiers were originally leased in 2006, and are now nearing the
end of their useful lives; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL'.OF,THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease
agreement for two (2) copiers with one (1) copier stand for the Finance
Department.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that these copiers shall be leased for a period of five
(5) years, each at a cost not to exceed $90 per month, plus an amount not to exceed
$0.02508 for each black and white copy in excess of the monthly print allowance.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall
transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor and the Finance Department.
