Subject: An Emergency Ordinance Declaring a Public Health Emergency and
Making an Emergency Appropriation of$200,000 to Alleviate Hunger in
the County of Hawai`i
Please find attached an emergency ordinance relating to the finding of a public health
emergency and an emergency appropriation.
The Hawai`i County Charter (2010 edition), section 3-11 states:
"Emergency ordinances shall be plainly designated as such and shall contain a
declaration describing the emergency in clear and specific terms. Any emergency
ordinance may be considered and adopted after one reading, with or without amendment,
or be rejected at the meeting at which the same is introduced.”
Please place the attached emergency ordinance on the agenda for consideration at the
next Council meeting scheduled for March 9, 2012.
