SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT:
SECTION 24-260 — 45 MPH SPEED LIMIT REVISION
We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10 (Schedules), Division 1
(Speed Limits), Section 24-260, Schedule 8 (45 mile per hour limit), subsection (g)
(Puna) be amended by revising existing item:
(1) Kahakai Boulevard, from Highway 130 to THE PROPERTY LINE BETWEEN
PARCELS 1-5-9:09 AND 1-5-9:59 Keoaepoke-School.
The intent of this amendment is to revise the 45 mph speed limit area on Kahakai
Boulevard to allow for the implementation of a new 25 mph area fronting Keonepoko
Elementary School.
A location map is attached for your reference.
