Comm. 587: INITIATES AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE III, SECTION 3-17, OF THE HAWAI‘I
(Bill 192) COUNTY CHARTER (2010 EDITION), RELATING TO THE COUNTY REDISTRICTING
COMMISSION
Prohibits redistricting commissioners from becoming a candidate for the County Council for the
first election cycle following the redistricting.
RECOMMENDS PASSAGE OF BILL 192 ON FIRST READING:
Ayes: Committee Members Blas, Ford, Hoffmann, Ikeda,
Yoshimoto, and Acting Chair Yagong – 6.
Noes: None.
Absent: Committee Members Onishi, Pilago and Smart – 3.
Excused: None.
