Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill 194, reports as follows:
Bill 194, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 598 dated
February 17, 2012, is a bill for an ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 11-59, as amended, the
Operating Budget for the County of Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2012. The
amendment is as follows:

010.411.5411.10 Area Plan on Aging General $ 10,550
The bill amends the Operating Budget by increasing the total appropriation of the Area Plan on
Aging Account by $10,550.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, County departments must obtain the consent
of the Council to enter into agreements with the Federal or State governments respecting action
to be taken pursuant to any powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or
other assistance connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers.
The State of Hawai`i Department of Health, Executive Office on Aging has awarded the Hawai`i
County Office of Aging a grant in the amount of$10,550 to be used to continue implementation
of the Chronic Disease Self Management Program (CDSMP).
Chair Brenda Ford relinquished the chairmanship to Vice Chair Dominic Yagong, and he
assumed chairmanship of the Finance Committee.
There was no discussion on this measure.

Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill 194, and
recommends its passage on first reading.
