Subject: Bill to Initiate an Amendment to the Hawai`i County Charter(2010 Edition) to
Provide that the Corporation Counsel Shall be an Elected Official of the County
Please find attached a bill to initiate an amendment to the Hawai`i County Charter. The bill
proposes repeal of Chapter 5 of Article VI and the creation of a new article dedicated to the
Office of the Corporation Counsel, wherein the Corporation Counsel is an elected official of the
County.
This bill is to be referred to the appropriate committee for those meetings scheduled for March
20, 2012.
