No. 581/Bill No. 188 PLACE: Council Chambers Hawai`i County Building 25 Aupuni Street Hilo, Hawai`i TIME: 1:40 p.m. Council Chair and Members Hawai`i County Council Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Bill 188, reports as follows: Bill 188, amends Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 6, Section 24-287, Schedule 35 (Passenger loading zones), subsection(f), Kona, by adding two new items and renumbered as required: "( ) Ka`ahumanu Place, north side, first marked diagonal stall, one hundred twenty-two feet west of Ali`i Drive, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m." and "f ) Ka`ahumanu Place, south side, one hundred twenty feet west of Ali`i Drive and extending fifty six feet in the easterly direction, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. everyday." These amendments are necessary to shorten the times the loading zones are in effect to allow the zones to be used as parking outside of the specified time. There was some concern expressed by Committee Members that the new signs be very clear in explaining the prohibitions determined by time, to mitigate any confusion on the part of the driving public. Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill 188, and recommends its passage on first reading. bl AYES NOES A&E EX Respectfully submitted, BLAS X FORD x COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC WORKS & HOFFMANN x PARKS AND RECREATION IKEDA X ONISHI X PILAGO X SMART X FRED BLAS, CHAIR YAGONG X PWPRC REPORT NO. 75 YOSHIMOTO X ADOPTED: MAR 2 1 2012
