RE: A Resolution Directing the Clerk of the County of Hawai`i to Take
Necessary Action to Place the Charter Amendment Proposed By
Ordinance No. 12-21 on the 2012 General Election Ballot
Please find attached for the Council's consideration a resolution submitted pursuant to
Section 15-2 of the Hawai`i County Charter.
Section 15-2, Hawai`i County Charter, provides in part: "Upon adoption of an ordinance
proposing amendments or revisions of this charter, or upon determination that a petition
for proposed amendments or revisions of this charter contains the required number of
signatures, the council shall by resolution provide that the proposed amendments or
revisions be submitted to the electors of the county for approval at the next general
election."
Please place this resolution on the appropriate Committee agenda for those meetings
scheduled for April 3, 2012.
