Re: Resolution Accepting Donation
Enclosed is a resolution accepting a donation of Fire Rescue equipment, with a total
value of$18,057.23 from the Daniel Sayre Memorial Foundation, P. O. Box 1285, Kailua-
Kona, HI 96745. This equipment will be used by the Hawaii Fire Department's Fire
Rescue and Ocean Safety Divisions to provide for the safety of our Fire Department
personnel and to facilitate the safe delivery of rescue services to the public.

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
This donation is offered by the Sayre Foundation to the Hawai'i Fire Department's Fire Rescue and Ocean
Safety Divisions, and consists of two Arizona Vortex rappelling systems, costing $1645.00; seven Cabel's
Gore-Tex parkas and bibs, $1895.24; one 14" cut-off saw, $1880.25; seven rope rescue kits and bags,
$2965.00; two Garmin GPS, $1007.98; seven swift water vests, $2635.83; two rescue boards, $2350.00;
one rescue boat tow bar, $3677.93; for a total donation of$18,057.23.
The donation of the above rescue equipment will provide vital equipment for our Fire Department rescue
personnel for their personal safety and also to facilitate the safe delivery of rescue services.
