Awareness program. The goal of this program is to allow student-athletes from Kea'au High School to create and produce a video titled "If I Neva Do D.A.T.". This video will be composed of a series of vignettes highlighting the consequences of using alcohol, tobacco and drugs. Enclosed is a resolution to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawaii Department of Health for this grant. Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating this $5,000 grant award. The Department of Liquor Control is requesting that this Resolution be waived from the Finance Committee and be placed on the April 4, 2012 Council Agenda in order to encumber the funds prior to the deadline of April 25, 2012. REQUEST: Request approval to accept a $5,000.00 mini-grant from the Hawai'i Partnership to Prevent Underage Drinking (HPPUD) Statewide Coalition. The Partnership is funded through a grant with the Dept. of Health -Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division of the State of Hawai'i. This is a one-time, non-reimburseable award. We request a waiver from the Finance Committee so that this may be heard at the April 4, 2012 Council meeting.
