CALL TO ORDER STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ITEM(S)ON THE AGENDA UNFINISHED BUSINESS Comm. 626.5: URGES THE MAYOR TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT A FULLY FUNDED (Res. 232-12) DIVERSION GRANTS PILOT PROGRAM FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII (Draft 2) Urges the Mayor to develop and implement a three-year pilot diversion grant program for recyclable materials by July 1,2012, and that the current two bin system for the collection of materials at County transfer stations should be continued during the three-year pilot program in order to provide for the accurate collection of data to determine the use of the diversion grant program. A fully funded diversion grant program could provide a monetary incentive in order to increase the diversion rates by motivating the general public with a financial reward.
