Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Bill No. 217,
reports as follows:
Bill No. 217, from Public Works Director Warren H. W. Lee, transmitted via Communication
No. 635, dated March 15, 2012, amends Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 1, Section 24-256,
Schedule 4 (30 mph limit), subsection (f)(1), by revising an existing item: "(1) Ali`i Drive,
from Walua Road(vicinity of Kona Hilton Hotel)to . ••- . . ' :.: •• • • :• the
property line between parcels 7-8-014:005 and 7-8-014:006."
This amendment is necessary because it revises the existing 30 mph limit area along Ali`i Drive
which is in a high pedestrian area adjacent to Kahalu`u Beach Park.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and
intent of Bill No. 217, and recommends its passage on first reading.
