RE: Resolution No. 242-12: Authorizing.,the Office of the Mayor to Enter an
Agreement with the State of Hawai`i Department of Health, Alcohol and Drug Abuse
Division, Pursuant to HRS 46-7, For a Grant to the Hawai`i Police Department in
Order to Support Enforcement of the State Law Prohibiting Alcohol Sales to Minors.
Bill No. 223 : A Bill For An Ordinance Amending Ordinance No. 11-
59, As Amended, The Operating Budget for the County of Hawai`i for the Fiscal Year
Ending June 30, 2012; Appropriating $12,000 to the Hawai`i Police Department to
be used to conduct enforcement operations to prohibit sales of alcohol to minors, and
to cite the retail store personnel making such illegal sales to minors.
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of Hawai`i,this
written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be waived from the
Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing this matter,timely approval
is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and the matter be placed onto the next
Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request is denied, for whatever reason, I
understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on Finance for placement on its future agenda.
