SUBJECT: Transmitting Resolution No. 243-12, Draft 2; Resolution Authorizing the Office of
the Mayor to Enter an Agreement with the State of Hawai`i Department of Education,
Pursuant to HRS 46-7, to Provide Monies to Develop and Implement a Strategy for
Hawai`i Island Schools to Decrease Consumption of Alcohol by Youth.
Attached please find Resolution No. 243-12, Draft 2, which incorporates action taken by the Council
during the April 17, 2012, Council meeting, as follows:
A non-substantive verbal amendment to the title correcting the word "STRAGEGY"to "STRATEGY"
(deleted material is bracketed and stricken through, added material is underscored):
"RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO
ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII
DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, TO
PROVIDE MONIES TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT A [STRAGEGY]
STRATEGY FOR HAWAII ISLAND SCHOOLS TO DECREASE

After amendment, Resolution No. 243-12, Draft 2, was adopted by the Council.
