The purpose of this measure is for the loading zones in the Kailua Village
area to have a start time and end time each day of 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. respectively. The request
for the amendment came from the Hawai`i Police Department and received support from the Kailua
Village Business Improvement District. The primary reason for the request was to open up more
parking along Alii Drive. Parking in loading zones is allowed when the loading zones are not in
effect.
SECTION 2. The reason for deletion of subsection (0(4) is that this particular loading
zone is on Palani Road and not on Ali`i Drive. Ali`i Drive terminates at Ka`ahumanu Place (road to
pier).
SECTION 3. Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 6, Section 24-288, Schedule 36.
