SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION URGING THE STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION TO CONSTRUCT A DESIGNATED PEDESTRIAN CROSSING
AREA FOR THE VOLCANO VILLAGE COMMUNITY ACROSS MAMALAHOA
HIGHWAY, COMMONLY KNOWN AS HIGHWAY 11 OR THE HAWAII BELT
ROAD.
Attached please find a resolution which urges the State of Hawai`i Department of Transportation
to construct a designated pedestrian crossing area located in the vicinity of the Volcano Village
between the Old Volcano Road and Wright Road'on Mamalahoa Highway, otherwise known as
Highway 11 or the Hawai`i Belt Road.
Please place this item on the appropriate Council Committee agenda for May 16, 2012.
