Hilo, Hawaii 96720 Re: Resolution Accepting Donation Enclosed is a resolution accepting a donation of Fire Rescue equipment, with a total value of$25,515.23 from the Daniel Sayre Memorial Foundation, P. O. Box 1285, Kailua- Kona, HI 96745. This equipment will be used by the Hawaii Fire Department's Fire Rescue and Ocean Safety Divisions to provide for the safety of our Fire Department personnel and to facilitate the safe delivery of rescue services to the public. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): This donation is offered by the Sayre Foundation to the Hawai'i Fire Department's Fire Rescue and Ocean Safety Divisions, and consists of a Thermo Imager, costing $8,098;'Arizona Vortex rappelling equipment, $6,755 (previous donation of$1,645 for total of$8,400; foul weather gear parkas (15) and bibs, $4,895; CMC Rescue Multi-Purpose device $1645; elbow pads (15), $225; knee pads (15), $300; safety goggles (15), $600; spine board, $680; ATV ramp, $300; binoculars (6), $960; and water rescue manikin, $469; Q.jextrication tools, $199.96; rescue stabilizing "cribbing", $388.27 for a total donation of$25,515.23. The donation of the above rescue equipment will provide vital equipment for our Fire Department Rescue and Ocean Safety personnel for their personal safety and also to facilitate the safe delivery of rescue and ocean safety services. w Q$ 2012 DATE: Department Head
