Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Resolution No. 183-99, transmitted by
Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro per Communication No. 563 dated November 30, 1999, regarding
the naming of streets in the County of Hawaii, reports as follows:
Resolution No. ] 83-99 authorizes the approval of street names within the Lalamilo Farm Lots
Subdivision, Lalamilo, South Kohala, Hawaii.
The Planning Commission at its November 5, 1999, meeting approved the names for the
following roadways:
"Lalamilo Farm Road" existing name since subdivision approved in 1961
"Kamala Road" meaning "the garden"
"Pu'u Huluhulu Road" named afer Pu`u Huluhulu
Pursuant to the Hawaii County Code, Chapter 22, Article 2, Section 22-35 the Council of the
County of Flawaii is authorized to adopt the street names of unnamed roadways in the County of
Hawaii.
Resolution No. 183-99, Draft 2, which includes the kahakos to "Lalamilo", and adds the word
"Pu`u" to "Pu`u Huluhulu Road" to be consistent with the place it is named after, was circulated
and approved by Your Committee.
Your Committee on Planning concurs with the intent and purpose of Resolution No. 183-99,
Draft 2, and recommends is adoption.
