COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 262 12 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION, HONOLULU DIVISION, PURSUANT TO HRS 46 -7, TO ALLOW FOR THE USE OF OFFICE SPACE AT THE HILO POLICE STATION. WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department ( "HCPD ") is the owner of that certain property located at 349 Kapi'olani Street, Hilo, Hawaii ( "Hilo Police Station "); and WHEREAS, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Honolulu Division ( "FBI ") desires to occupy office space in the Hilo Police Station, approximately 10' by 10', for the purpose of facilitating joint investigations; and WHEREAS, the HCPD desires to allow the FBI to use and occupy said office space in the Hilo Police Station; and WHEREAS, the capabilities of law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute organized criminal enterprises are enhanced in a setting involving the sharing of resources and expertise between federal, state, and local law enforcement; and WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46 -7, requires that County departments obtain the consent of the Council to enter into agreements with the Federal or State governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I, in accordance with section 46 -7, Hawai'i Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement and related documents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Honolulu Division, to allow for the use of designated office space at the Hilo Police Station.
