Yamashiro per Communication No. 599, dated December 20, 1999, regarding the naming of a street in the County of Hawaii, reports as follows: Resolution No. 194-2K authorizes the approval of a street name for a roadway within the Kalani Estates Subdivision, South Kohala, Hawaii. The Planning Commission at its December 2, 1999 meeting approved the name for the roadway as follows: "Makana Aloha Place" Pursuant to Chapter 22, Section 22-35, Article 2, Hawaii County Code, the Council is authorized to adopt the street names of unnamed roadways in the County of Hawaii. Your Committee did not entertain any discussion on this measure, except for the request by Committee Member Curtis Tyler to appropriately insert the okinas and kahakos throughout the text of the resolution to be consistent with the ordinance, which specifies the use of these diacritical marks. Your Committee on Planning concurs with the intent and purpose of Resolution No. 194-2K as amended to Resolution No. 194-2K, Draft 2, and recommends its adoption.
