Re: Acceptance of Donation
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, which
provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and with
(2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (b), of the Hawaii County Code, which states that a
gift or donation of money, securities, or personal property not covered by the capitalization
procedures (of the Department of Finance) shall be submitted to the Council by letter for its
approval, we request the Council's approval of the following donation:
One new custom sign; valued at $700 to be utilized by the Hawaii Fire Department's
Hawaiian Paradise Park Fire Station. This portable, concrete sign comes with its own
solar light so the public can easily locate and identify the Fire Station in the daytime or
at night.
We ask that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mr. Jim Lee of Signage and Beyond, HCR 3
Box 13130, Kea'au, Hawaii, 96749.

A. REQUEST:
Please grant authorization to accept the donation of a new custom made sign for the Hawaiian Paradise
Park Fire Station with a value of$700 from Mr. Jim Lee of Signage and Beyond. The sign is a concrete
structure about 2' x 3' and is portable. Also send a letter of appreciation to:
