Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 610, transmitted by
Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated December 3Q 1999, reports as follows:
Communication No. 610 recommends the reappointment of the following individual to the
Hawaii County Kailua Village Design Commission to serve a term ending on December 31,
2002:
Mr. Garret Webb of Kona, a 21-year resident of Hawaii, has been aself-employed
landscaper doing business as Kalaoa Gardens since 1987. He is currently the president of
the Hawaii Island Landscape Association.
Pursuant to Article 7, Chapter 25 of the Hawaii County Code, the mayor shall appoint members
to the commission to be confirmed by the Council, as prescribed in Section 25-7-2 of the Hawaii
County Code.
Although Mr. Webb was not in attendance today, he was commended by Committee members
Curtis Tyler and Nancy Pisicchio for serving the community very well. It was also noted by
Your Chair that Mr. Webb listed these two Committee members as references on his application.
Your Committee on Planning recommends the approval of the appointment of Mr. Garret Webb
to the Kailua Village Design Commission.
