NAMING OF STREETS IN THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, STATE OF HAWAII.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission at its regular meeting
of July 17, 1969, approved the following names for certain
unnamed, roadways in the County of Hawaii, State of Hawaii:
Kulaimano Heights Subdivision, Units III and IV
Pepeekeo, South Hilo Hawaii
Kulaimano Road
Pepeekeo Street
Maukaloa Street - meaning far inland
Kolekole Street - meaning raw, rare
Kaakepa Street - meaning diagonal, cut at an
angle, to avoid, shy away
from, take a short cut
Kahua Street - meaning foundation, base,
site, playground, course,
camp, bed (as of a stream)
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that the said roadway located in the County
of Hawaii, State of Hawaii, be named as follows:
Kulaimano Heights Subdivision, Units III and IV
Pepeekeo, South Hilo,, Hawaii
Kulaimano Road
Pepeekeo Street
Maukaloa Street - meaning far inland
Kolekole Street - meaning raw; rare
