Yamashiro per Communication No. 620, dated January 7, 2000, regarding the naming of streets in the County of Hawaii, reports as follows: Resolution No. 202-2K authorizes the approval of street names for roadways within the Ahualoa Homesteads, Hamakua, Hawaii. The Planning Commission at its December 17, 1999 meeting approved the names for the roadways as follows: "Kalehua Road" meaning "the lehua flower" "Kinimaka Road" name of a long-time resident (deceased) Pursuant to Chapter 22, Section 22-35, Article 2, Hawaii County Code, the Council is authorized to adopt the street names of unnamed roadways in the County of Hawaii. Your Committee did not entertain any discussion on this measure, except for the request by Committee Member Curtis Tyler to appropriately insert kahakos in the names Ahualoa and Hamakua within the text of the resolution. Your Committee on Planning concurs with the intent and purpose of Resolution No. 202-2K, as amended to Resolution No. 202-2K, Draft 2, and recommends its adoption.
