SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT:S
SECTION 24-255 - 25 MPH SPEED LIMIT REVISIONS
SOUTH KULANI ROAD
We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10 (Schedules), Division 1
(Speed Limits), Section 24-255, Schedule 3 (25 mile per hour limit), subsection (g) Puna
be amended by revising existing item:
(29) South Kulani Road, FROM VOLCANO ROAD TO THE PROPERTY LINE
BETWEEN PARCELS 1-8-086-026 AND 1-8-086-027
We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10 (Schedules), Division 1
(Speed Limits), Section 24-255, Schedule 3 (25 mile per hour limit), subsection (g) Puna
be amended by adding new item and renumbering as required:
( ) SOUTH KULANI ROAD, FROM A POINT THREE HUNDRED FEET
NORTHWEST OF BRIDGE 18-1 TO ITS SOUTHEASTERN TERMINUS.
The intent of these amendments is to revise the speed limits along South Kulani Road.
The Traffic Division's proposal is to keep the existing 25 mph speed limit from Volcano
Road up until parcel 1-8-086:026. A new 35 mph speed limit will be installed from
parcel 1-8-086:026 to three hundred feet northwest of the bridge 18-1. The rest of
South Kulani Road will remain at 25 mph.
