Xtreme Auto Works is Registered as an Auto Body and Paint Business: Trade name was established 06/04/2007 and nature of business 5 years ago was a mix of automotive paint and mechanical repair. Nature of business has progressed to mechanical repairs. A more in depth research by Goodenow would have shown that all ASE certifications for automotive repair was acquired over the past 2 years establishing the focus of Mr. Souza's business as automotive mechanical repair. No new certifications in Auto Body were acquired over the past 3 years. Nature of business has already been changed with DCCA. 2. According to DCCA Records, Mr. Souza does not have a Mechanic's License: Per Christine Rutowski, head of PVL for HRS 437B — the majority of the individuals believe the ASE certification is all they need. The State registration is flawed in that people are not aware of the licensing requirements. Attached graphs will show only 39% of all ASE Certified Technicians are registered with the State. 3. Mr. Souza has recently obtained collision (Auto Body and Paint) Certification: Again, better research would have shown the Structural Analysis & Damage Repair along with the Painting and Refinishing certifications were from several years past. Only renewals were completed over the past few years. The only recent certification labeled under Collision is "Mechanical and Electrical Components" which focuses on mechanical repair. 4. Currently a Distributor for Goodmark Industries, an auto body wholesale company: Instead of accusing and profiling; a search through their site would show that Goodmark carries a vast array of parts from brake systems, cooling systems, engine parts, exhaust parts, lighting, interior components, rear axle components, suspension, weatherstripping, wheels, etc. The nature of my business is Automobile Repair and Maintenance. Why am I being punished for having a relationship with a parts supplier? State Registered Certified Mechanic & Repair Dealer (reference item #2 on rebuttal — see following 4 pages as numbered below) 1. Mechanic Certified Chart o Over the past 4 years, only 30 Automotive Technicians have registered with the State. The majority registered under BMW of Kona, Deluz Enterprise (Mazda) & IK Motors (Kamaaina Nissan) — all new major Car Dealerships o General public is unaware of currently licensing requirement. 2. Hawaii — ASE Technicians Chart o Of the 2669 ASE Technicians — only 1058 are registered with the State of Hawaii. o 39% compliance rate for all ASE passed technicians — why is this? Public is unaware and the State of Hawaii system is Flawed 3. & 4. Repair Dealer Licensee List / Graph — 4 year breakdown o Over a 4 year period of 16 non-car dealer registered Repair Dealers only 2 (per State requirement) were registered correctly. 2 were registered the following year of operating their business. o 2 of 16 registered correctly are NOT good statistics. o State system shows only 4 new businesses over the past 4 years which seems falsely low.
