Not only do I want to know where my food is coming from and how it has been produced, but I feel it is vital to good health. I am very concerned about the information I have heard about the dangers of GMO foods and the lack of long tern scientific studies proving their safety. I would prefer there were no GMO foods here. I want to know what products are GMO so I can avoid eating them. One of the concerns I have is Horizontal gene transfer. This is the transfer of DNA between two organisms; for example, eating GMO corn and the herbicide resistant engineered genes transferring to humans through saliva and the gut. By transferring this DNA, there is a high probability that the engineered aspects of resistance will be transferred to the host, resulting in unintended consequences, such as resistance to antibiotics. Please consider my request and require labeling of GMO products. Sincerely, Sherri Carden Keaau, HI, Big Island oc) F ro vt o—< " c3 rr c Lei co - Comm. No. El5s•l a Ref. To: /9/661144/441/ Ref.
