Subject: GMO legislation

To Whom it May Concern:
I am writing in regards to GMO labeling legislature that is currently being considered in
the state of Hawai'i. As a professional in the health field, I am adamantly opposed to GMO
foods and, as such, strongly support the labeling of GM foods. Most of Europe has
outright banned the introduction of GM foods into their food supply and for good reason.
There have been no long-term studies done to prove that GM foods are safe for human
consumption. Because their safety has not been proven, at the very least, we, the public,
have the right to know if GMO foods are present in what we're eating.
Hawai'i continues to pave the way for positive change in this country.
I urge you to pass this legislation for the safety of the people of Hawai'i now and for
generations to come. Mahalo!
