Subject: Support GMO Labeling, HSAC Communication 480
Hawaii Council,
As a tax payer, consumer and small farmer, I urge you to protect our food products through labeling so
at least we have a choice.
All GMO products should require labeling. I am concerned about the dangers of GMO foods and lack
of extensive scientific research regarding their safety.
Already this society is suffering from environmental pollution, vog, and invasive plants and animals that
have taken over or done harm to the native plants and animals, not to mention the residents.
Are we going to allow that with our foods too, especially native food plants such as, taro, kava, bananas
and the rest?I am very concerned about genetic DNA transfer in animals and humans and cross
pollination of GMO food plants with our native species.
Even if you believe the GMO foods are safe, do you really want to chance it with our children and our
agricultural economy? We already have Monsanto growing Franken-corn on Maui.
Support GMO labelling, please. Stop GMO foods/plants from further entering Hawaii. Regards,

Although Angel Pilago withdrew his GMO legislation, I understand the Council is still meeting Dec 7th
and GMO labeling must be support in the strictist way.
