Subject: Bag Ban
Dear Hawaii County Council,
I support Bill 17 Draft 2: Plastic Bag Reduction. These bags kill and injure wildlife,
including the unique and protected species here in Hawai'i. These bags are also an
eyesore, blowing across our parks and beaches. Litter laws clearly are insufficient.
These bags do not go away naturally. Instead, they simply breaking down into smaller
pieces that continue to impact our environment for decades to come. Please vote "Yes" on
this bill.
