Resolution
RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF
SECTION 23 OF THE UNITED STATES HOUSING ACT OF 1937,
AS AMENDED, TO LOCALITY.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 23 of the
United States Housing Act of 1937, as amended, the Housing
Assistance Administration is authorized to provide financial
assistance to local public housing agencies in providing
low -rent housing by leasing dwelling units in existing
privately -owned structures; and
WHEREAS, said Section 23 provides that the provisions
thereof shall not apply to any locality unless the governing
body of the locality has by resolution approved the application
of such provisions to such locality,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII, STATE OF HAWAII, as follows:
1. This application of the provisions of Section 23 of
the United States Housing Act of 1937, as amended, to the
County of Hawaii, State of Hawaii, is approved;
2. That six certified copies of this resolution be
transmitted to the Hawaii Housing Authority, State of Hawaii,
Honolulu, Hawaii.

I, the undersigned, the duly qualified and Deputy County Clerk
of the County of Hawaii do hereby certify:
1. That the attached Resolution is a true and correct
copy of a Resolution as finally adopted at a duly
called meeting of the Hawaii County Council held
on January 6, 1972, and duly recorded in the official
records of the Authority, that the Resolution has not
been amended, modified, or rescinded, and is now in
full force and effect;
2. That the meeting was duly convened and held in all
respects in accordance with law; that to the extent
required by law, that due and proper notice of such
meeting was given; that a legal quorum was present
throughout the meeting and that a legally sufficient
number of members of the Hawaii County Council voted
in the proper manner for adoption of said Resolution;
that all other requirements and proceedings under the
law incident to the proper adoption or passage of the
Resolution, including the publication, if required,
have been duly fulfilled, carried out, and otherwise
observed; that I am authorized to execute this
Certificate; and that the seal affixed below constitutes
the official seal of the County of Hawaii and this
Certificate is hereby executed under such official seal.
