Dear Hawaii County Council,
I am writing to express my support of Bill 17, Draft 2, reducing the use of platic bags in Hawaii County.
We all know these bags have very limited use,just one or two times, and end up in the landfill or the
ocean where they sit for thousands of years or hurt or kill wildlife. By voting to support Bill 17, Draft 2,
Hawaii County can show environmental leadership and teach its citizens about responsibility for nature
and wildlife. This bill will instill good values in our children and be a teaching point for more
sustainable living.
