AUTHORIZES THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF
MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR CONTRACT FOR
SERVICES OF HAULING OF RECYCLABLE MATERIALS AT ISLANDWIDE
SOLID WASTE RECYCLE AND TRANSFER STATIONS
On behalf of the Board of Directors, membership, and staff of Recycle Hawai'i, a non-governmental
501(c)3 non-profit educational organization dedicated to the promotion of recycling and wise resource
management in Hawai'i, we feel that the Director of Environmental Management needs the ability to
negotiate beyond the scope of single fiscal year periods to be able to implement and expedite zero
waste diversion programs to enhance efficiency and competition in dealing with the County's solid
waste management needs.
