RESOLUTION NO. 28
WHEREAS, the marine facilities afforded by the Kailua-Kona
Harbor accommodate an expanding sport fishing fleet; and
WHEREAS, the Kailua-Kona Harbor and adjacent beaches are
widely used for swimming and other recreational activities
by the general public; and
WHEREAS, said Kailua-Kona Harbor and its environs presently
provide no adequate facilities to accommodate the comfort and
needs of the public,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
in and for the County of Hawaii that it does hereby respectfully
requests the Honorable John A. Burns, Governor of the State of
Hawaii, and the Honorable Fujio Matsuda, Director of the Department
of Transportation, to use the power of their offices to provide
dressing room, shower and toilet facilities on the Kailua-Kona
wharf in order that the needs of the public are subserved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and is
hereby directed to forward a copy each of this resolution to the
Honorable John A. Burns, Governor of the State of Hawaii, and to
the Honorable Fujio Matsuda, Director of the Department of
Transportation.
