Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 272-12, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 272-12, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication
No. 770, dated June 28, 2012, authorizes the acceptance of a monetary donation of$75 from
Puna Hongwanji, Buddhist Women's Association, to the Office of Aging. A thank you note
accompanying this donation indicates appreciation to Alan Parker, County Executive on Aging,
for spending the afternoon explaining about help available from the Office of Aging at their
Buddhist Education Seminar held on June 9, 2012.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of money.
Your Committee members extended their appreciation of this donation.
A letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution will be sent to Puna Hongwanji, Buddhist
Women's Association, P.O. Box 100, Kea'au, Hawaii 96749.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 272-12,
and recommends its adoption.
