Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation,to which was referred Bill No. 271,
reports as follows:
Bill No. 271, transmitted by Public Works Director Warren H.W. Lee, via Communication
No. 758, dated June 7, 2012 amends Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5, Section 24-281,
Schedule 29 (Parking prohibited during certain hours on certain streets), subsection(c), South
Hilo, by deleting item 18 and renumbered as required: "[(18) Mohouli Street, on the Puna
school days.]"
The amendment improves the flow of traffic through the Mohouli Street/Kilauea Avenue
intersection. The Traffic Division is proposing to convert this area to a no parking at any
time area.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and
intent of Bill No. 271, and recommends its passage on first reading.
